Description

Welcome to House of On the Moon homewares! Created in collaboration with Hey Saurus studio, this dinner plate features everyone’s favourite endangered species of fish, the Maugean Skate.

Also known as the ‘thylacine of the sea’, the skate is endemic to Tasmania and only found in the brackish estuarine waters of Macquarie Harbour and Bathurst Harbour, where salmon companies are doing their best to deoxygenate the waters and rend this ancient creature extinct. But never fear, you can get (a picture of) it on a plate!

Made from white porcellaneous stoneware with black slip and sgraffito decoration, this plate is approximately 24 cm wide. Handcrafted by human hands it may have some quirks which will make your food taste even more delicious. We try to make them matching sizes but guess what we’re not robots so they might be a little individual.

Porcellaneous stoneware can go in the dishwasher technically but if you’re concerned about longevity for this beautiful creation we recommend you hand wash and hand dry.
